THE FIRE BRIGADE DEMONSTRATION.

The members of the Fire Brigade are using every exertion to bring their demonstration to a successful issue. They have arranged with the Tramway Company to run all their oars in the procession, and a good view of the proceedings will be obtained from them. The visiting brigades, consisting of the Port, Bailway, Kaiapoi and Bangiora, will leave the procession at the railway station. After this the tram cars will leave the Christchurch station for St. Albans, Papunui and Sydenham. The order of procession will be ais follows, starting from the Carlton Hotel at termination of the fireworks :—Train of five oars, Excelsior Band, Port Fire Brigade, Kailway Brigade and engine, Hook and Ladder Company, Steamer “Extinguisher,” Kaiapoi Brigade, Hand Engine—“ Dreadnought,” Bangiora Brigade, Steamer “ Daluge,” Drum and Fife Band, Train of five oars, Fire Police on each side of the procession in single file. Detachments of the brigade have been told off for the discharge of fireworks, keeping the grounds,(and especially the gates, where they hope to receive liberal sontnbutions from the general public. The fireworks of this year will be of a more extensive nature than last, and the procession is expected to be an imposing one.
