THE MARKET PLACE.
TO THB EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —Having seen in your valuable paper of Monday last a letter signed “.Ratepayer,” I can fully endorse all that your correspondent says with reference to the stone-breaking carried on in the Market place. As a resident and one carrying on business there for some years past, I must say this is to me a very serious injury. I have hitherto personally refrained from bringing the matter forward in the hope that the good sense of our councillors would cause them to open their eyes to the injustice they are doing to the business people in this part of the city. I am surprised that the owners of property have so long quietly submitted to eo great an injustice. I can but look upon its continuance as an unnecessary infliction upon the residents of this neighborhood, and I hope, Mr Editor, you will kindly give the use of your powerful pen and paper to help its removal. Yours, &c., Resident in the Market Place,
