PRIZE DISTRIBUTIONS.

ST. LUKE’S DAY SCHOOL. The half-yearly examination of this school terminated on Friday last. Before “breaking up,” (in the unavoidable absence of Mn Lingard) the prizes were distributed by the Yery Eer. the Dean, as follows: Upper School, boys. Division I—let, E. Hill; 2nd, E. Ward ; commended, H. Chiverson. Division ll—lst, H. Homeman; 2nd, H. Seymour; 3rd, W. Pearce; commended, E. Blanchard. Division Hl—lst, F, M’William; 2nd, W. Irens. GIRLS, 1 Division H— Mary Pollan and Ellen Grand, equal. Division Hl—lst, Kate Irene; 2nd, Emily Brien; special prize for good conduct, Waites Pearce. Sewing prizes (contributed by Mrs Lingard and another lady)—lst, Ellen Grand; 11, Maggie Fnllan; 3rd, Minnie Blanchard; 4th, Mabel Blanchard. Presentation of lower school prizes will be held over until the beginning of next term. After a few appropriate remarks from the Dean, and from other gentlemen present, a hymn was sang, and the children were dismissed in excellent order. EANGIOEA SCHOOLS. The distribution of prizes to the scholars attending these schools, nnder the tuition of Mr and Mrs J. G. L. Scott and Mias Kitchen man, took place yesterday at 5 p.m. The rewards, including a Luge number of handsomely bound books, were gives to the children by Mr A. H. Cunningham, chairman of committee, in presence of a number of friends and parents, with a few words of advice and encouragement to each recipient.
