[PHB PBBSB ASSOCIATION SPECIAL WIBB.J WELLINGTON, November 30. There was only a moderate attendance at the races to-day. A heavy gale bringing up clouds of dust made the course very unpleasant. RAILWAY STAKES. Billingsgate I Luna " Miss Dcmett Five started. Billingsgate took the lead after a good start, holding it all through. Luna came up at the post, but failed to get on level terms. Time, Imiu. 20aecs. HUEDLE HANDICAP. Shamrock I Kangaroo " Old Ireland , , Lonehand, Matau and Angler were scratched. Kangaroo quickly assumed the lead, holding it till half round the second time. Eclipse and Shamrock, who till then were far behind, came up, the latter showing good foot. At the last hurdle Eclipse swerved, but was beaten by Shamrock, who came in easily, winning by several lengths. Kangaroo, Ireland and Hamlet were nowhere. A protest was entered by the owner of Eclipse against Shamrock on the ground that he crossed at the last hurdle, but it was not sustained. 6PKING HANDICAP. Luna 1 Lonehand 2 Norseman 3 Danebury was scratched. £ix started. Lonehand jumped away with the load, Romeo and Angler quickly running up, with Norseman, running stiffly, last. After the first round Romeo and Angler went up, and Norseman fell back beaten. Luna_ gradually crept up, and tackling the leader in the run home, beat him at the peat by a short head. Time—3min. 20»ecs. CONSOLATION STAKES. Angler 1 Danebury 2 Miss Domett 3 This race was considered a certainty for Miss Domett. The horses got away together, Angler first showing in front. At the half distance the three were even. Danebury then took the lead, and was again challenged by Miss Domett, who then fell hack. Angler came up at the turn for home, and easily disposed of Danebury, WAIKATO RAGES. AUCKLAND, November 30. The Waikato Turf Club races at Ohaupo were largely attended. The principal race, the Sporting Handicap of 50 sov», was won by King Quail, Gilderoy second, Sunbeam third.
