THE COLLEGE ELEVEN.
To the Editor of the Globe. Bib, — I am rather surprised to see that the College eleven is still made up of players who have left the school. I think the eleven should consist entirely of boys who are at college. When there were a scarcity of players it was thought advisable that boys should play for a season after leaving school, in order to make up matches; but now that there are upwards of 200 boys, I think they might dispense with this rule. It keeps boys out of the eleven who otherwise would be in, and there would be much greater honor in winning matches without the aid of those who are not collegians. At none of the public schools in England do we find this system, as far as I have been able to ascertain, Another reason why it would be more beneficial ta the eleven is, that they could always get their men together twice a week for practice, which I am sure would improve their fielding, not the strongest point they possess. Hoping my suggestion will be carried out. Sours, Ac., OLD COLLEGIAN.
