[eetttee’s telegeams.] MELBOURNE, November 27. Conference. The conference of the Australian colonies on the border duties and Chinese question was opened yesterday with the usual formalities. Messrs Graham Berry and Vale are the Victorian delegates. November 28. Camhallo ran second in the Wyndham Handicap, Mr Ketten. Mr Henry Ketten, the pianist, is a passenger per the steamer Albion, which has sailed for New Zealand. Obituary. Mr W. S. Lyster, of the Opera House, died to-day. ~:rMELBOURNE, November 29. The Intercolonial Conference. The Conference is making very favorable progress in the direction of giving a fuller scope for extending the powers of the proposed federal council in dealing with legal questions, mails, and defence. Proposals are also being made for the purpose of establishing a federal Court of Appeal. ADEL ATDE.Novomber 27. The Stranding of the SorataThe inquiry into the stranding of the Sorata at Cape Jervois is now proceeding.
