THE DRUIDS.
A preliminary meeting was held on Tuesday evening at the Wharf Hotel, Woolston, for the purpose of forming a Lodge of the above Order in that district. Bro. P. Williams, P.A., occupied the chair. Bro. Swinnerton, D.P., assisted by Bros. Bose, P. A., Menzel and Heywood, of the Pioneer Lodge, explained the objects and the benefits to be derived by the working classes in becoming members of the Order. About thirty members signified their intention of joining the new Lodge, which it was resolved should be named tho “Anchor Lodge.” It was decided that the dispensation be applied for at once, the necessary amount of money having been voted for that purpose. A working committee wa» formed, and the meeting then adjourned fora fortnight.—Several members of the Bud of Hope Lodge, assisted by friends, gave an entertainment on Tuesday evening last in the hall of the Literary Institute, Bangiora, to a arge and appreciative audience.
