The brigantine Anthons, with a cargo of Port Chalmers stone for the graving dock, arrived yesterday. The brigantine Sea Bird, Captain Smith, arrived yesterday from the Sounds with a cargo «f timber conrigned to J. T. Brown. _ She left cb Tuesday last, and experienced light and strong variables to arrival. The brigantine Magellan Cloud, Captain McDonald, arrived yesterday morning, after a remarkably fast round trip of eighteen days, from Eaipara. She left here on the 2Sth nit., and reached Kaipara in forty-nine hours; loaded and left there on last Saturday. The schooner Spray, Captain Buxton, arrived yesterday from Hokitika with a cargo of timber for Messrs T. and E. Pavitt. She left there •a the Ist Novembar.'end for two days following mat with a northerly gale. On the 4th passed Farewell Spit, with a S.W. wind, which was succeeded by a southerly gale, necessitating an anchorage for shelter at Wellington.
