CORRESPONDENCE.
COLONIAL BEER AT THE AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
To the Editor of the Globe. Sm, —Your reporter’s account of the competition for the above would lead one to imagine that he must have imbibed rather freely from the prize exhibits of Messrs Vincent and S. Manning, as those are the only brewers he mentions. He says, “Messrs Vincent and Co. were first, with a nice bright sample of good body and flavor, Messrs Manning and Co. taking second. The latter won the cap for bitter beer and the silver medal for bottled porter.” But ho quite ignores the class for “Porter,” for which there were seven competitors (including his two favorites), and for which the Crown Brewery Company took first prize. Tours, &c., O. liOUIBSON. Crown Brewery, November 12th, 1860.
