Idalium was scratched. Betting—2 to 1 agar. Amulet, 3 to 1 agst. Hinemoa, and 5 and 6 to 1 the rest. After some delay at the post, in which the colours of Hinemoa and La Mode were conspicuous, the lot got nicely away on the fall of the flag, with the exception of the favourite, who hung on the post and was never in the hunt. When the lot had fairly settled to their work La Modo and Rawdon were the first to show to the front, and led for some way up the straight. The latter was now supplanted by Hinemoa, who got on terms with the Crisis Lodge oandidate about the distance post. The two ran a clinking race home together, La Mode just winning a splendid race by a nose, Rawdon a good third, and the rest pretty close up. Time— Slisecs. The winner was loudly oheered on returning to scale. The following table shows the winners of the WEICOME STAKES Tear Owner. Hoise. Bider. , Time. 1879 H. Prince Hilar'ons S. Harris [5-'isec. ISSO H.
