SITTINGS IN CHAMBERS. Friday, November 5. [Before his Honor Mr Justice Johnston.] His Honor sat in the Court Chambers at 11 sun. BB HUGH VAN NECK, DECEASED. On the application of Mr Turnbull, letters of administration were granted to Mathilda Neck, mother of the deceased. BE PETITION OP MARY ANN BRANDON. On the application of Mr Bruges, the petition herein was amended. BE LOT GIBES. Oa the application of Mr Joyce, the debtor received his order of discharge. POBD V LINDSAY. This was a return to summons. Mr Foster for plaintiff, and Mr Harper for defendant. After argument, fourteen days’ longer time to plead was granted to defendant on payment of costs. BE MATTHEW HENDERSON, DECEASED. On the application of Mr Joyce, his Honor mode an order advertising aa arrangement under the Trustees Belief Act. WHITE V BROWN. Mr Beeves moved for a rule nisi calling upon the Resident Magistrate at Temuka to show cause why a writ of prohibition should not issue restraining him from proceeding further in the case. His Honor granted the rule nisi, returnable next banco day. IN BANCO. WILSON V DRAPER, CHARTERS AND CO. This was an argument on demurrer to the second and third replication in the declaration of the plaintiff. Mr Harper for defendants, and in support o£ the demurrer. Mr Garrick for the plaintiff, and contra. After argument, his Honor overruled the demurrer, each party to pay their own costs.
