N.Z. UNIVERSITY EXAMINATIONS—NINE HOURS A DAY!
TO THB BDITOE OF THB PEBBB. Sib,— Can it be true that, in the coming University examination for a degree, some of the students will havd to be at work for nine hours a day ? I have been informed on good authority that in some cases the candidates will have their Ist paper from 10 to 1, their 2nd from 2 to 5, and their 3rd from 7to 10. Such an arrangement is perfectly monstrous, six hours a day being the utmost that ought to be allowed for an examination. This arrangement ought to be put a stop to by the authorities if it has been made. I trust the current report is not true, and if not true, will be contradicted, so that those who aro expecting to be victimised may be relieved from their anxiety.—Yours, &0., D. B. P. Christchurch, Nov. Ist, 1880.
