[FEB FBESS ASSOCIATION SPECIAL WISE.] AUCKLAND, Ootober 31. The ketch Patience, from Fiji, has arrived with fruits. She brings intelligence of the surprise and capture of the Auckland brigantine Borealis by the Natives of the Solomon group. Captain McKenzie, his son, the mate, and a portion of the crew of the Borealis were recruiting for labor at Uru off Malata, one of the larger islands. Captain McKenzio and the Government agent had gone ashore in a boat, taking with them as a crew one white man and three Fijians. The natives from another part of the island, during their absence from the ship, captured the brig and killed all on board, namely five white men and one Fijian. Captain McKenzie heard the screams on board the vessel from the shore, and pulled off only to find his vessel in possession of the savages. He stood to sea, and pulled forty miles down the coast for assistance, to where three labor vessels were lying. Theße were the Stanley, Tubal 'Cain, and another name unknown, whioh at once slipped anchor and stood down to the scene of the massacre and recovered possession of the brig, which they found completely plundered, the Natives having had possession of her for two days. Captain M'Kenzie got the mate of the Stanley to assist to bring the ship to Fiji. The s.s. Gunga broke down 160 miles from Kandavau.on the voyage from Sydney to Fiji. The captain succeeded in reaching an anchorage on the coast under sail and despatched the boat to Levuka for assistance. The Ocean Queen went out and towed her into Lavuka. Temporary repairs were effected, and a trial trip was made in order to see if it was safe to proceed to Sydney. At Toko Toker, on the Bewa Bivor, the house of Mrs Williams, who resided with three daughters, was attacked by Natives. After effecting an entrance the Notives dashed in with clubs into the bedrooms where the mother and girls had been sleeping, but they got out at the back and fled in their nightdresses. The place was completely wrecked and nlundered. Inspector Forster is investigating the circumstances of the outrage.
