MR PROCTOR AND GALILEO.
The following lines are from “Punch ’’ of August I7th, 1875 : “Mr Richard A. Proctor deigns to say That Galileo was great in his day, That the man who put back forua Cosmos’? border. Though not first exactly, was of the first order. We knew it without this lively young doctor— Galileo does not stand in need of a Proctor.”
