ASSOCIATION t PAST COLLEGE. This match was continued on Saturday afternoon, and through want of time ended in a draw, rather in favor of the Past College. On the previous Saturday the Association had made 102, and the Past’ College 92 for five wickets, Beeves being not out 17 and Higgins not ont 0. W. T. Ootterill took Higgins’ place, and was joined by Boss, in the temporary absence of Beeves who, after Ootterill had fallen a victim to Ashby, went in to finish hie innings. The runs began to come apace, the 10’a being hoisted in quick succession, "both batsmen playing well, Boss especially -showing good form, but at 130 he failed to atop one of Frith’s, and retired after a good innings of 19, made up of one 5, one 4, two 3’s, &o. H-lmore joined Beeves, who was treating the bowling very roughly, a splendid on drive off Frith producing 5, Helmore playing steadily. The score increased to 152, when the latter was bowled by Frith for 7. Beswick was bowled by Longden, who had relieved Ashby. Chapman stayed to see Beeves hit a couple of 4’s, when he was bowled by Ashby, who had again taken up the bowling, the innings thus closing for 167, or 65 a-head, Beeves being not out with 63 to his credit. Wiii score included some splendid bits—two S’s and four 4'b being the chief. His defence was very stubborn, though at times Frith got very close to bis sticks. The Association commenced with Ashby and Stevens. The former hit out at the bowling, and knocked up 16 out of 21, when ho was caught by Harman at deep square leg. Oorfe joined Stevens, and kept the scare moving at a good pace. When 55 was reached Stevens was run ont, after scoring 19. Secretan joined Oorfe, and 30 runs wore added before Boss succeeded in clean bowling the latter, who had made 27 by 4, 3, three 2’a and singles. Wilding hit Boss for 2 and 4, and was then canght by Helmore behind the wicket. Seoretan was well caught by E. Ootterill in Boas’ next over, having placed 19 to bis credit. Hanmer and Longden raised the ■core from 94 to 119, but were caught by their own captain, who was fielding substitute, the latter having scored 22. Spackman hitone for 4, and was canght at short leg. Bedmayne and Wilson played ont time, being not ont with 17 and 5 respectively, the score standing at 156 for eight wickets. Boss and Beswick were the most successful bowlers for the Past College, each securing three wickets. The following is the score:— ASSOCIATION. First innings 102 Second Innings. D. Two elevens of these clubs decided matches on Saturday, begun the previous week. In that played on the U. 0.0.0. ground, some good batting was shown on both sides. Shireff and Ataok played very steadily for their runs, but it was not till the last man of the M. 0.0., Smith, came in that the fieldsmen bad much trouble. The youngster bit out in all directions, commencing with a 6 and a 5 to leg, and following up by some rattling outs. It was nob till he and Hill had nearly doubled the score that a Yorker from Morgan beat him. The U. 0.0.0., with the exception of Million, did not do much in their first attempt, and had to follow on. Fenwick and Nalder batted well, and Perceval, by steady play, was of much assistance to his side. The Innings closed for 119, which loft the M. 0.0. -40 to 'get. This, thanks to the determined batting of Ataok, they easily accomplished. The following are the scores : MIDLAND c.c.
