The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Tuesday, October 12th, were as follows: — Spirits, £6l 7s 3d; tobacco, £96 ss; wine, £lB 6a 6d; beer, £3B 17s 6d; sugar, £l6 4s 8d ; tea, £34 5s 8d ; goods by weight, £ll 6s 7d ; ad valorem, £175 ; other duties, £5 15s 9d; total, £489 8s lid. THE ENGLISH MABKBT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following telegram, dated London, 12th October, 1880 Wool —Market unchanged. Tallow—There is a fair trade demand. Mutton is worth 35s 6d ; and beef 33s per cwt. Wheat—Market firm. Adelaida is worth 525, and New Zealand 47s per 4961b5. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Wellington, October 13 ; Messrs Laery and Campbell report : —Chick wheat, 2s 9d to 3s; oats, 2s; maize, overstocked, 3s ; bran, 6d ; pollard, £5 to £5 10s, both unsaleable; oatmeal, £ll 10a; potatoes unsaleable. „ , , Dunedin, October 13. The supply of fat cattle was_ under the average, but the demand was languid, and there was a decline of 2s 6d per lOOlbs. Best beef, S2s 6d per lOOlbs ; fat sheep, in wool, 21d per lb: shorn, l£d, with moderate supply; fat lambs, 6s 9d to Bs.
