RIFLE MATCH.
The City Guards fired a match at the Cishmere range yesterday morning for a silver cup, presented to the company on the following conditions, viz., that Lieutenant Wolfe and Sub-Lieutenant Francis should each pick a team on the ground, the highest scorer in the winning team to become the winner of the cup. The ranges were 400 and 500 yards, five shots nt each range in any position. The morning was not favourable tor good shooting, but Private Cox succeeded in making 30 points, which constituted him winner of the cup. SUB-LIEUTENANT FRANCIS’ TEAM. 400 yds. 500 yds. Total.
