PREBBLETON DOMAIN BOARD.
A meeting of the ah we Beard was held at the Road Bas’d office, Prebbleton, on Thursday, the 7th instant. Present— Messrs H. W. Peryman (chairman), J. Maakrey, 8. O. Moule, end El ward Pmbhle. An application was received from ttio Prebbleton Cricket Club for permission to use the Domain for orioket purposes Resolved that the permi-sion applied for be granted, on tho understanding that the officers of the club take every care that no damage be done to the belt of trees ; no horses or vehicles to be allowed on the ground without special permission of the ground committee Resolved that for the present tho deeds of the land be lodged in thesafeof the Lincoln Road Board,in charge of the hon. secretary, Mr D ivies. The question of publicly opening tho Domain was thou discussed, and it was decided that tho opening take place sometime during Novem her (after the show), preliminaries to be lef' to the ground committee, who were requested to confer with the school committee with a view to their giving the annual school treat on the same occasion, in order that as far as possible the neighborhood might enjoy a public holiday. A discussion of a conversational character then ensued, when the question wa.« mooted of making Mr Edward Prebble, the donor of the Domain, some acknowledgment, in the shape of a testimonial, or otherwise, for his munificence. Finally, the hon. secretary was requested to make arrangements for carrying ont the object.
