MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following planes (subject to the necessary altera. Ilona) as under:— SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9. For Otago, per Wakatipn, at 320 pm. ; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard's van, 4.5 p.m. train. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, Ac., rer Hawea, as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m,; money orders, at 4 pm.; registered letters, at 5 p m. ; guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on November 23rd WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Rotorua, at 1.50 p.m. late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, at 2.40 p.m. train. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14. For Fiji, to connect with the e.s. Southern Cross at Auckland, per Te Anau. The next mail for the United Kingdom, Ac., via Brindisi (tor specially addressed correspondence only) will close on October 20th. This mail will be due in London on December 9th. SYDNEY J.
