THE CASE OF HOWARD.
To the Lditor of the 6/lobe.
Sib, —I noticed in your issue o£ yesterday a letter, possibly written by an exceedingly irate cabman, which contained an expression that might be strained into a reflection on the antecedents of the shareholders of the Tramway Company. lam surprised, Sir, that you ahould have admitted such an expression into your journal. I, and others who are equally well acquainted with their antecedents, are well aware that no imputation could be more unfounded. To throw dirt is not to prove a case, and the writer might have had the sense to know that. Yours, &e., FAIR PLAT. [The admission of any expression reflecting on the antecedents of the shareholders of the Tramway Company into our journal was of course an oversight.—Ed. Globe.]
