Florence was first off, but at the railway turn Loch Lomond took command, when Florence made an effort, but failed to get on terms with the favorite. Mr Lyon’s horse won easily by two lengths. Flying Handicap, of 60 sovs. Mr Hislop’s Moanatiri t Mr Farmer’s Paramena t Mr Walters’ Libeller 0 Marie Stuart, Never Miss atd Omega also started. Betting—3 to lon Libeller, 4to 1 against Paramena, 5 to 1 against Marie Stuart, 5 to 1 againt Omega, 10 to 1 against Moanatiri. Omega was first off, but soon dropped in the rear, leaving Libeller in front, with Paramena and Moanatiri close up. Never Miss, who got off badly was last. At the railway turn Paramena and Moanatiri closed with the the leader, who was soon after beaten, and the pair ran a slashing race home, terminating in a dead heat. In the deciding heat Paramena msde the running for halt a mile, whoa Moanatiri passed, and coming away won in a cantor by two lengths.
