KAIAPOI WESLEYAN CHURCH ORGAN.

Theßacred ooucertin aid of the funds of the recently erected organ, held in this church last evening, was very largely patronised. The programme opened with a march in D major, taken by tho band, including the organ, Messrs Heap and Pooley first violins, P. Bate and A. Johnson second violins, J. T. McLeod Smith contra baes, De Bonis clarionet, and Hammond oornet. During the programme the choruses "Kyrie Eleison," " Gloria in Excelsis," and "Sanotus," from Mozart's Twelfth Mass, were given. The soli and ohoruses, "Strike, oeraphe, strike," "The Lord said unto my Lord," " Oh! thou that tellest," "Bethelem's Star," and the finale, "See they oome," were all fairly rendered. The organ solos were rendered with telling effect, showing to advantage Mr Perry's command over the instrument. The bolob of the evening were, " There is a green hill," sung with expression by Miss Smith ; "OhLiord ! have mercy," taken by Mr W. 8. Smith; "By Babylon's water," Mr J. Pooley; " Arm! arm! ye brave," by Mr Pallan, and "Nazareth," to which latter Mr O. Merton, of Rangiora, did full justice. The band and chorus numbered about forty performers ; Mr T. G. Smith conducted, and Mr T. Perry, organist of the Wesleyan Church, Bristol (now on a visit to the oolony), acted as organist. The receipts were most satisfactory from the Bale of tickets.
