CANTERBURY BEE-KEEPERS' ASSOCIATION.
A committee meeting wag held at Dr Irving’s waiting room on Saturday evening. The president (Dr Irving) reported that he had taken charge, on behalf of the Association, of the hive of Ligurian bees lately imported from San Francisco by the Acclimatisation Society. He pronounced them to be truo Ligurians. A letter was read from Mr Chaplain cf Bristol, stating that he intended coming to Lyttelton by the Waitangi, and would bring os many swarms of Ligurian bees as possible with him. The secretary mentioned that several members have complained of the delay in receiving the periodicals issued by the society. He trusted that the members would forward them on promptly after the time allowed for reading each had expired. Fifty more bar-framed hives were ordered, and the president urged upon the members to purchase hives before the summer, as, when swarming is in full swing, it is more than probable that tho supply of hives will not meet the demand.
