VISITING THE MAN-OF-WAR.

The opportunity afforded yesterday for tho public to visit H.M.3. Danao, now in Port, was largely availed of. Tho afternoon train to Lyttelton were crowded to the platforms, ono train having as many as fourteen carriages to it. The proximity of the position occupied by tho steamer in relation to the boat jetty renders the boating part of the trip easy and convenient, and u lino of watermens’ boats was kept steadily running during the afternoon. The bulk of tho carrying was done, however, by tbs smart littlo launch Lyttelton, the passenger accommodation of which was fully taxed every trip. It is stated that over a thousand people visited tho vessel during tho afternoon, and their compliments to tho officers and men for their courteous and hospitable manner were to be heard on all sides.
