THE DRUIDS.

The ordinary meeting of the Lyttelton Hearts of Oak was held on Thursday evening, August 26th, numbers of visitors from Onristchuroh and Wellington being present. Correspondence was read from several of the Christchurch Lodges, notifying their intention of assisting in official regalia at the demonstration on Septomber 9th; also from the Foresters' Society, asking the lodge to forego their claim to the hall on October 14th, on account of their district meeting falling on the same evening, whioh request was acceded to. One member was initiated and several were proposed. Harmony was then indulged in for half an hour, several of the members and visitors contributing to the enjoyment of those present. The Christohurch Fire Brigade have kindly lent fifty torches for use in the forthcoming procession, and the route which has been decided upon will enable everyone to Bee the sight without discomfort. The new by-laws, as proposed by tho lodge, have received the approval of the Board of Directors, and the lodge will be registered in a few weeks. The lodge was closed in the usual form by P. A. Bro. Ryan, after which the visitors were regaled with light refreshments, provided by tho members, and a most pleasant hour was spent previous to the departure of the last train.
