MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) aa under: — TUESDAY, AUGUST 24. Per Otago and Australian Colonies, per Botorna, at 1 50 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Provinces, per Taiaroa, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.25 p.m.; guard’s van, 3.55 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &0., per express train, to connect with s.s. Botorna, at the Bluff, as follows : —Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6 a.m. Eegiatered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24th. Money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post-office van attached to the express train, on Wednesday, August 25th. This mail will bo due in London on October 16th. Notice. —The Brindisi letter rate of postoge for the United Kingdom is 8d per half-ounco. Tho next mail for the United Kingdom, &0., via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on September 11th. This moil will bo due in London on October 2Gth. Notice. —The Post Office at Malvern will be closed for money orders and savings bank business on the 31st inst. Tho Post Office at Sheffield will be constituted a money order and savings bank office from Ist September next. The Post Office at Aylesbury will be re-opened from 20th inst. SYDNEY J.
