MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
LYTTELTON. Tuesday, August 17. (Before Joseph Beswick, Esq., R.M3 Dbunk and Disoedbbly. —John Lawrence pleaded guilty to being drunk on Monday on the railway platform. He was very nearly killed by a goods train, and escaping that, he jumped off the wharf and came near being drowned. Pined 20s. William Sinclair admitted being on Norwich Quay on Monday evening in an incapable condition, and was fined 10s. Charles Rowndesly also admitted being drunk in London street, but denied having been under the influence for some time previous. He was also charged with using foul language. Constable Kenny gave evidence, and Rowndesly was fined 10s and 40s respectively. Laeceny prom the Dido. —Henry Belmont, on remand for larceny, was further remanded until August 26th, bail to be allowed in two sureties of £l5O each.
