RANGIORA HORTICULTURAL AND FLORAL SOCIETY.

The annual genoral meeting of this society was held on Wednesday evening, the President (Mr C. Merton) occupying the shair. The annual report and statement of accounts were submitted by the secretary and adopted. A vote of thanks was passed to the secretary, accompanied with an honorarium of two guineas. It was proposed and carried—" That the committee for the ensning year be Rev. J. N. Binsfield, Messrs Merton, Sharland, Stephens, Staplcforth, J. Ivory, E. d'Auvergne, Atkinson, Robson, and C. Jennings, with power to add to their number. Mr 0. Merton was unanimously re-elected president, and Messrs H. Blackett, W. Buss, and T. Robson vice-presidents. Mr 0. J. ■Jennings wob also re-elected secretary and treasurer, after which a general meeting was held, all members being present. It was resolved—" That a statement of accounts in a condensed form be published with the prize schedule." A lengthy discussion then ensued as to the advisability of holding one or more shows during the forthcoming year. Mr T. Robßon moved, and Mr J. Ivory seconded—- " That only an autumn show be held." As an amendment Mr G. Sharland moved, and Mr W. Stapleforth seconded—" That two shows be held as übubl." Upon being put to the meeting the amendment was oarried. The meeting, with the ÜBual vote of thanks to the chairman, then adjourned.
