THE DRUIDS.
The Lyttelton Hearts of Oak Lodge hold their ordinary fortnightly meeting on Thursday evening, at the Foresters' Hall, Lyttelton, the attendance of members and visitors being unusually large. The lodge numbers now over a hundred members, and is increasing every week. The committee appointed to make arrangements for the entertainment and demonstration on September 9th reported having received numerous offers of assistance—in fact, more than sufficient to Srepare a very liberal and varied programme, 'here will be a torchlight procession of Druids in full regalia through the principal streets of Lyttelton, the entire route being illuminated by variegated colored fires, specially prepared for the occasion by a member of a sister lodge. The railway band will head_ the procession, and every arrangement is being made to endeavor to eclipse anything of the kind which has yet been attempted. A report and prosrjectus of the proposed Friendly Societies Association was brought up, and after a long discussion it was ordered to lie on the table for six months. After a most enjoyable evening having bean spent, the lodge was closed by A.D. Bro. Hildyard in the usual form.
