The following is the Cirn Exchange report for the week onditg Friday tho 6th instant: There is no change to report in the state of the grain market during tho past week. Values are unchanged The werther continues most favorable for farming operations. Already a large area of ground has been sown with wheat. Wheat —The demand continues good. Fine milling quality commands 3s lOd to 3s lid per bushel. Large lines of similar d >sc iption are worth a shade over those quotations—viz . 3s 11 id to 4s Old ; seed wheats, 4s 3d to 4=61 per bushel; second class milling samples, 3s to 3s 2d ; chiokwheat, 1 s 9d to 2s fid per bushel. Oats—Good sound 1 right milling parc-ls are being inquired for; the business dona however has not been on an extensive scale, ns ho dors appear to think that an advance on present prices is inevitable. Market rates at present are Is 6|d to Is 8d f.0.b.; good feed qna'ity is moving off at from la 4d to la 5d per bushel; inferior feed samples Is Id to Is 2d per bushel. Barley—The demand for first-class ma'ting quality continues g od, and will find buyerfrom 3s to 3s 3d per bushel; second clisa malting samples, 2s 3d to 2s fid per bushel; feed samples, Is fid to Is 8d per bushel. Potatoes are being inquired for, and business can ba transacted at from 24 1 to 25.- per ton at country stations within a radius of eight miles from Christchurch, sacks extra. Holders are unwilling to do business at these quotations, consequently business in the tuber is rather at a standstill. Many holders are asking 30s per ton, but this price is prohibitory in the state of foreign markets at present. Cheese and Butter —The market is well supplied, with rather a sluggish demand ; the former is rather slow of sale at from 4d to 4,Vd per lb. The same may ba said of the latter, at from 9d to 9id per lb. Hay—sos to 55j per ton, delivered in town.
