[reuter’s telegrams.] MELBOURNE, August 2. The New Ministry. The following list of the new Ministry has been submitted to his ‘Excellency the Governor by Mr Berry:—Premier, Mr Berry; Chief Secretary, Mr Smith; Minister for Education, Mr B. Patterson; Minister for Railways, Mr N. M. K. Valo; Treasurer or Attorney-General, Mr R, Richardson ; Minister for Lands, Mr G. D. Langridge; Minister for Public Works, Mr H. R. Williams; Minister for Mines, Mr A. T. Clark. The office of Commissioner of Customs and others are unfilled. Verdict in Case of Greer. A verdict of temporary insanity has been brought in against Greer, who shot his wife and a Frenchman named Soundrey, at the Opera House, through a fit of jealousy. MELBOURNE, August 3. Accession to Ministry. Professor Pearson and Mr Robert D. Reid, member of the Legislative Council, will join Mr Berry’s Ministry without portfolios. Shipping. Sailed—Rotorua, for Bluff.
