A verdict of temporary insanity has been brought in against Greer, who shot his wife and a Frenchman named Soundrey, at the Opera House, through a fit of jealousy. MELBOURNE, August 3. Accession to Ministry. Professor Pearson and Mr Robert D. Reid, member of the Legislative Council, will join Mr Berry’s Ministry without portfolios. Shipping. Sailed—Rotorua, for Bluff.
