["By Teibqbaph.]

[Via Bluff.] MELBOURNE, July 27. On Thursday's Bitting of Parliament Mr Berry notified a want of confidence motion. Mr Service objected to the same, as entirely out of order before the Governor's speech wa» delivered, and he accordingly appealed to the Speaker, who, on Friday, delivered a ruling, in writing that the motion was quite receivable. Hereupon Mr Service said that, while he and his colleagues would bow to the decision, yet they felt so strongly on the subject that they could not countenance the subsequent proceedings, and the Government members then left the House en blec. Mr Wrcxon, a member of the Opposition, also protested against the breach of the Constitution, and quitted the chamber. Sir J. O'Shannassy said nothing. Mr Barry then submitted his motion, without a speech, "That tie House take the earliest opportunity of informing his Excellency that bii advisors do not possess the confideccs of Parliament." A young Irishman named Greer, just arrived in Melbourne, shot his wife and a Frenchman named Soudry, a member of the French Commission to the Exhibition. It appears thai Soudry voyaged to Melbourne in the Garonne with Greer and his wife, and obtained the intimacy of the latter, who ultimately became infatuated. The intimacy continued in Melbourne, where the wife ultimately confessed to improprieties with Soudry to an agent employed by Greer. The latter took his wife to the opera on Saturday, and returning after a short absence from the theatre, saw Soudry- talking to his wife. He whereupon shot both of them and then himself. Greer is not expected to recover, but the others are. Mr Service informed the Assembly that the new Government would require a million sterling for the service of the current year. NEW SOUTH WALES. The Government intend to test three refrigerating railway cars, English, American, and Colonial, during the ensuing summer. Nearly every immigrant per Samuel Plimsoll has obtained a situation, mostly through friends.
