Industrial Home Inquiry. The Industrial Home inquiry is still dragging along. The evidence of Mr T. B. Hannaford was taken. He admitted that one part of the petition which he had prepared for presentation to the General Assembly had been proved to be untrue as regarded the master’s conduct. GISBORNE, July 29. Charge of Perjury. The charge of perjury against Mr W. L. Rees was dismissed to-day. The charge was that an affidavit of the indebtedness o£ Mr Cooper made by Mr Rees was false. WELLINGTON, July 29. Insurance Companies Bill. The Chamber of Commerce held a moating this afternoon to consider the Insurance Companies Bill which is now before Parliament. The principal speakers agreed that the Act would drive foreign companies out of the field, principally because their articles of association would not allow them to comply with the provisions of the Act. Resolutions were passed condemning the Act, as it tended to create a monopoly, also because of its protective tendency. Only agents of the local companies spoke in favor of the Bill. DUNEDIN, July 29. Bottla Licenses. At a meeting of brewers, hotelkeeper?, and merchants this afternoon resolutions were passed against the introduction of the provision for bottle licenses in the new Licensing Act. The Steamer Ino. The steamer Ino went ashore at Port Molyneux last night. She has a full cargo, and is expected to become a total wreck. Her hull is insured for £SOO in the South British and £450 in the Victoria, and tho cargo is also insured in the South British for £SOO.
