[keuteb's telegbams.] MELBOURNE, July 23. Political. In the House of Representatives the Ministry maintained that the notification of the vote of want of confidence was out of order before the Governor's speech. The Speaker ruled to the contrary, and the Ministry quitted the House. The motion was ultimately carried. MELBOURNE, July 24. Apology. The "Age " to-day withdraws its statement (in consequence of which a libel action had been instituted) to the effect that Messrs Swallow and Ariell had influenced their workmen at the elections, and apologises to that firm for having made such a statement. SYDNEY, July 23. The Markets. Hennessy's brandy, in bulk, 10s 6d; Devoe's kerosene, Is 2d per gallon; maize, per 601bs, Is lOd to 2s 3d. ADELAIDE, July 23. Adelaide wheat, 4s per bushel, market steady; flour, £9 15s, market inactive. Freights to the United Kingdom, 37s 6d: steamers, 455.
