The Hinemoa leaves this evening for New Plymouth, taking twenty constabulary, under the command of Sub-Inspector Coleman. The Hinemoa is under orders to bring down the newly-arrested Maori prisoners and convey them to Lyttelton, to be lodged in the gaol at that place. No later intelligence has been received from opposite Parihaka since the last arrests were made. No information -has been received by the Government regarding the reported attempt to convey ammunition to Parihaka from the East Coast. It is not probable that any steps will bo taken at present in regard to the Mount Vernon affair.

[PEB PBESB ASSOCIATION SPECIAL WIBB.] NEW PLYMOUTH, July 23. Ten more Natives have been arrested and sent into town from tho camp. The Natives abont Parihaka say that they intend to continue fencing for ten days, and fully expect to be arrested. On Tuesday many Natives were seen on hillocks overlooking the road near tho camp, evidently on the look-out to see if the prisoners were taken to town. The Natives about Parihaka are continuing their planting, fencing, as usual, and argument is wasted on them, us they say that Christ was crucified and the prophet persecuted, and so it is with them.

The Urenui correspondent of the “ Herald ” says that the Natives in that district are not cropping so much this season, as they are unsettled, and likely to be so long as Te Whiti-ism exists.
