Rotorua, s.s , 563 tons, Tozer, from Sydney via South. E. Paflett, agent. . Prince Rupert, ketch, CO tons, Hennings, from Catlin’s River. Master, agent. Sailed— July 12. Grafton, s.s.. 242 tons, Johnson, for Oatnarn and Timaru. P. Cunningham and Co., agents. The schooner Norval, Captain Taylor, late of the Wild Duck, from Taiarua had N.W-winds to Falliser, where the southerly gale of the 4th current was met with, causing the cargo to shift. The vessel was hove-to for forty-eight hours to admit of righting the timber, since which westerly winds of variable strength wore experienced. The schooner Saxon, Captain McKenzie, aho from Taiarna, left there June 3rd, and had similar weather. The Collector of Customs is to hold a preliminary enquiry to-day at Lyttelton into the circumstances of the late collision between the ketch Clematis and steamer Rotorua, that steamer being due here to-day. According to a Customs regulation in connection with these enquiries—not at all a satisfactory one to the public—the Press are not admitted. The Hudson is ready to receive cargo, and will probably commence loading to-day tor Home. POET OP SUMNER. Arrived— July 12. Onward, schooner, 69 tons, Day, with a cargo of coals from Lyttelton. Eagle, ketch, 15 tons, Messetvy, with a cargo of timber and firewood from Pigeon Bay. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Wellington, July 12. Arrived— Rotorua from Sydney aud Auckland, Kiwi from Napier. , Sailed— Wellington for Picton and Nelson, Rotorua for the South.
