[ebuteb’s telegrams.] SYDNEY, July 9. The New Taxes. In the Legislative Assembly, last night, the House went into Committee on the Wool, Coal, and Stock Taxes Bill. After debate a division was taken on the clause fixing the export duty at one farthing per lb. on greasy, and one halfpenny on washed and scoured wools, when the ayes and noos were found to he equal ; the chairman, however, gave his casting vote with the ayes, and the clause was then passed. Sir Henry Parkes, the Premier, then moved that progress be reported, and the Chairman leave the chair. The motion was carried, and the House adjourned. Shipping. Sailed—Wakatipu, for Wellington. MELBOURNE, July 8. Shipping. Arrived —Ringarooma, from the Bluff. Sporting. Mata has been hacked for the Melbourne Cup to win £IO,OOO at 100 to 4.
