Queensland RevenueThe Queensland Revenue returns to the 30th of June have been published, and show the revenue last quarter to be £409,000, an increase of £58,000, compared with the June quarter of 1879-80. The total revenue for the year 1879-80 was £1,482,000 against £1,461,000 in 1878-79. The expenditure for the June quarter was £538,000, an increase of £15,000, compared with last year. The total expenditure for the year was £1,673,000 against £1,678,000 in 1878-9. The total deficit on the 30th of Juno, 1879, was £177,000 but it now stands at £239,000. MELBOURNE, July 2. The Death of the Platelayer. It is now believed that the platelayer whose body was found at Glonrowan was murdered by Ned Kelly. PoliticalMr Service, speaking at Maldon last night, repeated his previous statement that be would adhere to bis Reform Bill, and ridiculed the inconsistency of Mr Berry. Mr Service announced that be feared there would be a deficiency of £650,000 at the end of the present year.
