MAIL NOTICE.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— THUBSDAT, JUNE 17. For Northern Ports, New South Wales and Queensland, per Norfolk, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. SATUEDAY, JUNE 19. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Erancisco), Sandwich Islands, New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Ports of New Zealand, ac, per Taiaroa. as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6,30 p.m.; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; money orders, at 4 p.m. ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. ; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will be due in T(Andnn nn ATignatSrd. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), will be closed at Christchurch on July Ist, and will be due in London on August 21st. The Post Offices at Christchurch and Lyttelton will be open every Saturday night, from half-past six until a quarter to eight o'clock, for the purpose of receiving Savings' Bank deposits only.
