[By Telegraph.] [PEOM OUE OWM COREEBPOKDENT.] WELLINGTON, Juno 15. The following is Sir G. Grey ’a “ Moorhouse Services Recognition Bill: " —“An Act to perpetuate the recognition of the public services of W. S. Moorhouse in the late province of Canterbury : Whereas Wm. Softon Moorhouse, formerly Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, was chiefly instrumental in originating and constructing the tunnel and railway between Lyttelton and Christchurch, the largest undertaking which had then boon attempted in New Zealand, and whereas it is expedient to perpetuate the name of the chief promoter of the said undertaking in connection therewith, be it therefore enacted, &c. It shall be lawful for the Government to cause a gold medal to be provided, bearing thereon a suitable inscription, such medal to be presented to the said Wm. Softon Moorhouse, and to be recognised as a free pass of the first class over all Government railways in New Zealand to the said W. S. Moorhouse and his descendants for ever.”
