MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, JUNE 12. For Northern porta, per Wanaka, at 7 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail. TUESDAY, JUNE 15. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Tararua. THURSDAY, JUNE 17. For Australian colonies, per express train to Port Chalmers (to connect with s.s. Tararua) at 7.30 a.m. , For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies via Sydney, per Rotorua. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will he closed at Christchurch on June 19, and will be due in London on August 3. , The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), will be closed at Christchurch on July Ist, and will he due in London on August 21st. The Post Offices at Christchurch and Lyttelton will be open every Saturday night, from half-past sis unfca a quarter to eight o’clock, for the purpose of receiving Savings’ Bank deposits only.
