CHEISTOHUBCE Satusdsy. June 5.
([Before John Marshraau, Esq., J.P.j Dbune aicd Disohdbbly.—Walter Henry Garrett was fined 10s. John Downey, who was charged with this offence on the 29th May, and remanded to Lyttelton for medical treatment, was presented. Ha was cautioned and discharged.
Infanticide.—la the case against Jane Mathews, for the above offence, Mr Joyce applied for a remand till the 11th June, : T .ting that accused was at present in the Hospital, and in a very weak state. Remanded, accordingly. Vagbancy.—Rowland Augustine O’Hara, who was remanded yesterday to enable the police to communict n with his friends, was again brought np. Sergeant Morrioe said ho had telegraphed to iris friends at Timaru. An answer had been received enclosing a £l- - He would ask therefore that the charge be withdrawn. Whhdrawr. accordingly.
