CHURCH WORK SOCIETY, KAIAPOI.
A meeting attended by forty persona was held in tho Episcopalian Church School on Monday evening. 'The Bev. D. O. Hampton presided. The Bev. W. O. Harris explained the objects of the association, which had recently been organised in the diocese for the purpose of assisting poor parishes, also to maintain the chaplains for tho gaol and hospital, as well as a s-amen’s chapla n. It wes resolved, on the motion of Mr O. O. Howard, seconded by Mr J. Harper—“ That a branch be established at Kaiapoi.” On the motion of Mr B. Bevel), seconded by Mr J. H. Moore, it was resolved “That the curate, church officers, district visitors, and ladies’ committee, also subscribers of 12s each a year, form the members of the society.” On the motion of Mr J. Harper, seconded by Mr O. E. Dudley, Mesdames O. Dudley, Oldham, Hardey, Mias Monk, Messrs Neeve, Bevell, Brundell, and Dudley were elected) the executive committee, Mr Dudley to be secretary. It was agreed to hold a special meeting at Mr Dudley’s office on June 7th, at 4 p.m.
