INQUEST.

An inquest was held yesterday afternoon, before Dr. Coward, coroner, and a jury, of whom Mr J. Sherlock was chosen foreman, touching the death of Mr Samuel Taylor, who met with en accident at the latter end of last week and received injuries from which he died on Sunday last. It appeared from the evidence that deceased was preparing to drive away from his shop at the corner of Salisbury and Madras streets, and as ho sat down on the tailboard of the vehicle, it (the tailboard) gave way, and he fell backwards to the ground. He appeared to bo seriously hurt and was at once taken to his house, where he died on Sunday. The medical testimony wont to show that the lower portion of the body of the deceased had been paralysed, owing to injury of his spine caused by the fall. The jury returned a verdict of “Accidental death.”
