To the Editor of the Globe. 0 SlB, —I have copied the following from the 8 “ Evening Star,” Thames. May 19th : —“ A \ meeting of the Electoral Roll Committee lap v sed for want of a quorum. The Mayorsaid v that it was necessary that further expenditure „ bo incurred in order to investigate the matter. n He regretted the paucity of members present, j and thought that the members of the cam- j mittee were very laxin attending the meetings, f The meeting was adjourned until next Thursday week, the 27th instant, when, probably, 0 a larger attendance may bo expected. The jj pruning process has reduced our roll from 4500 to 2500, but the committee feel sure 0 that the number could be materially in- j creased.” . r I hope for the credit of the district the j Thames people will purge the roll, as it has , always been notorious as a hotbed of imper- , sonation. \ I am, &c., ,
