RANGIORA FIRE BRIGADE.

The annual meeting of this brigade was held on Wednesday evening, May 26th, in the brigade library. There was a fair attendance of the public, including Mr Blackett, Mayor, and some of the borough councillors. The secretary, Mr H. Blackett, jun., read the report and statement of accounts. The former stated that there had been eight fire alarms. The balance sheet showed that the receipts had been, including £25 from the insurance association, £3B Os Bd, the expenditure, £37 5s Od. The report was adopted. A committee of Messrs Derbridge, Brown, Henley, McAleer, Wadey, and Blackett, was elected to manage the affairs of the brigade. The Mayor and Mr G. Buckham were elected auditors. Votes of thanks were passed for the use of private horses to convey the engine to fires, and to Mr Superintendent Gulliver, who occupied the chair.
