MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — THUESDAT, MAT 27. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaka, at 11.25 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m,; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Kaikonra, per Tui, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m.; guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. FEIDAT, MAY 28. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies, via Sydney, per Wakatipu. TUESDAY, JUNE 1. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Botomahana. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for correspondence specially addressed only), will be closed at Christchurch on June 3rd, and will be due ill London on July 24th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will he closed at Christchurch on Juno 19, and will be due in London on August 3. The Post Offices at Christchurch and Lyttelton will be open every Saturday night, from half-past six until a quarter to eight o’clock, for the purpose lof receiving Savings’ Bank deposits only. Notice—The Post-office called Springbank, at the Moeraki railway station, will he closed from 21st instant. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
