Tho cricket match between the Australians and eleven players of Derbyshire was resumed to-day, when the latter, in their second innings, made 125. The Australians played well, and won the match by eight wickets. Russia and ChinaSeveral war vessels have been ordered to the Pacific, and have received instructions to cruise off China, owing to the Kuldja difficulty being still unadjusted, and Russia having resolved upon the strict execution of the treaty. May 19. An Unlucky Lord Advocate. Tho Lord Advocate of Scotland, appointed under Mr Gladstone's Ministry failed in obtaining re-election to Parliament. LONDON, May 19. England and AmericaIt is announced from Washington that President Hayes has invited Congress to consider the course of action which the Government should pursue in regard to the outrages which took place some time since on the American fishermen at Fortune's Bay, Newfoundland, and especially in view of the refusal of the Marquis of Salisbury, when Foreign Secretary in the last administration, to accede to the demand of the American Secretary of State for compensation from England for the loss of the boats and nets belonging to the fishermen. The matter in dispute between England and America is seriously occupying public attention in both countries.
