TIMABTT, May 13. The weather to-day was again very bad for the South Canterbury Amateur Athletic Sports, but the different events were splendidly contested. The following are the winners of the principal events: — Long Jump—Knight (18ft. 3in ). Hop, Step and Jump—F. N. Robinson (38ft. 4in.) 120 Yards Hurdle Bace—P. N. EobinßOn, 1 ; H G. Toss will, 2. Time, 19 2-sth Fee. Throwing the Cricket Ball—F. N. Bobinsoa (104yds. 2ft. 4in.) One Mile Banning Handicap—F. W. Hunt, 1; A. S. Baker. 2. Time, smin. 12=ec. Standing High Jamp—F. N. Bobinsoc (3ft. 9in.) He afterwards cleared 4fc. 2in. 440 Tarda Handicap Hnrdla Bace—W. Tosswill (20 yards), 1; F. .S. Baker (20 yards), 2. Time, lsain. lOseo, Oae Mile Walking Handicap—E. T. Bhodes (300 yards), 1; J. S Smith 1200 yards), 2. Time, Baiin. 25ssec. HS. S Butherford came in first, bnt was disqualified for breaking. Putting the 2llb Stone—F. ft. Eobinson, 25ft. 3in.
iSO Yards Handicap—J. S. Smith (5 yards), 1; A. Templar (5 yards), 2. Time, 16J3ec. Two "Mile Eunning Handicap— rt. C. Ford (350 yards ,1; A. S. Baker (40 yards), 2. Time, lOmin. lOsec.
Consolation Bace, 100 Yards—C. V. Patten, 1. F. N. Eobinson, of Christchureh, having scored the most points at the meeting secures the champion oap.
