Mails close at the t hief Post Office for the following places (subject to tho necessary alterations) as under THURSDAY, MAT 13. For Akaroa and Otago, per Ta.aroa, at 11.25 a.m. ; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m.; guard’s van, I ’.IO p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Tui, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m. ; guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. •- ■ For Northern Ports, per Rotorua, at 7 p.m. The guard’s van. must not be used for this mail. TUESDAY, MAY 18. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Te Anau. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on May 22nd, and will be duo in London on July 6th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for correspondence specially addressed only), will be closed at Christchurch on June 3rd, and will be due in London on July 24th. Notice. —The Post Office at the Weka Pass Railway Works has been re opened at Mr Woodhouse’s store. , The Post Offices at Christchurch and Lyttelton will be open every Saturday night, from half-past six until a quarter to eight o’clock, for the purpose of receiving Savings’ Bank deposits only.
